Regulations Delay Original Chef's Studio Concept
Washington, DC, Jul 28th, 2006 -- The plans for a Family Attraction based around food have received a setback as cities demand that the locations fit into existing restaurant policy guidelines and require the same compliance as traditional restaurants. Few understand the concept of being a television studio first, and consider the audience be treated, taxed and licensed as diners within a restaurant. Insurance was another obstacle, especially with the increasing allergic reactions to many common foods.
Several Mall have expressed considerable interest in hosting a Chef's Studio within the Mall, and sites have been offered in Orlando, Las Vegas, New Orleans and several cities we mentioned in earlier press coverage. Unfortunately the local regulations have stopped many of these projects. Many Mall Managers requested that the Chef's Studio be open to constant passing foot traffic, and give away free samples to increase visitors. This unfortunately does not fit well in the primary focus, that on filming live television, and recorded productions for Cable. Many TV programs require multiple takes to achieve what is seen by the viewer.
The trials also showed the noise level was unsuitable for taping, and there were objections from stores at the glare from the television lighting.
Chef's Studio continues to search for a profitable mixture of audience and studio capability that will please viewers, audience and investors.
