Chef's Studios Attraction Delayed
Chef's Studios and King Henry's Feast delayed until better traffic and viability studies completed for Eastern Shore of Maryland. Pilot scheme launched to continue development of Attraction project.
Washington, DC - 1st June 2004 - The scheduled launch of the two Chef's Studios in Easton, Maryland have been postponed and will probably be located in a more traffic friendly environment. The two studios were 1500 sq feet and 3000 sq feet and were located in a new development near the Airport. Traffic studies have shown that there would be serious access problems for the target audience from Washington and Baltimore, made worse by long delays crossing the Bay Bridge during the Summer months.
"Had we just needed a building for taping cooking shows this location would have been marginally successful, but the plan is to host a sizeable audience, which requires adequate parking and reliable access." explains Alan Simpson, "We have created a pilot studio and that is working fine. Unfortunately the pilot studio does not have the capability of housing an audience, but does allow us to tape and create new program ideas, as well as allowing us a studio for photography."
Since the original plan was announced Chef's Studio has begun to be heavily involved in development of programs for barbecue and grilling with the additional requirement of outdoor space for the BBQ sets.
"With the many grills, smokers and barbecue products we are now using the new location will have to have the capability of outdoor cooking and smoking." comments Alan Simpson, " and we are fortunate that we did not go ahead with the original location, designed soley for indoor cooking."
